AniCare, a multifaceted, direct-intervention program developed in 1999 to help stop the cycle of violence between animal cruelty and human abuse. There are separate programs for adult and juvenile offenders. The ASI publishes training manuals and conducts national workshops for mental health professionals, social workers, law enforcement agencies and others on the front lines of this important societal issu e.
Human-Animal Studies, a multidisciplinary academic field devoted to understanding more about humankind's complex relationship with animals. The ASI edits two academic journals devoted to the subject (Society and Animals and the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science) and works with academics and institutions nationwide to develop courses, minors programs and more.
The Animals' Platform, a blueprint that can be used at the local, state and national level to promote new and stricter animal protection legislation and policy. The Platform can be viewed or downloaded, and is available on DVD.
